Open Sky Selects Prov.Net as Data Center – Managed Services Provider
SSAE16 SOC II and Flexible Services Platform Were Key Factor
Providence, R.I., January 12, 2012 – Provdotnet, LLC. A leading provider of data center solutions, today announced that it has begun providing a managed service platform at Prov.net’s data center in Providence, R.I. to OpenSky Corporation for their online vulnerability assessment and penetration testing platform.
OpenSky Corporation provides expert information technology consulting services to help global corporations reduce IT costs, protect information assets and accelerate the adoption of strategic technologies. OpenSky issued an RFP seeking a secure managed service provider who could provide high-availability services and share responsibility for maintainging and operating the systems, applications and services used for the delivery of their vulnerability assessment and penetration testing platform. We were awarded OpenSky’s business because, “Provdotnet’s response and proposal demonstrated that we were both flexible and capable of providing all of the services requested to support the design and operating requirements requested by OpenSky,” said Ron Sacks, Provdotnet’s Managing Partner.
Provdotnet will provide OpenSky with dedicated servers, networking, and security services as an all inclusive managed platform. OpenSky will have full management and administrative access to the platform enabling them to completely self-manage the platform.
Sacks also noted that OpenSky required a “SAS70” provider to host their platform and noted that Prov.net recently completed the SSAE16 SOC2 which replaced the SAS70 Type II AICPA standards.
Prov.net is a colocation, cloud services and managed data center services facility located in Providence, RI.
